Hello there!

Introduction

My name is Elodie and I am a French native from near Paris. I have lived in the UK for nearly 7 years and I studied Design & Applied Arts in Edinburgh.

After graduation I worked with potter Barbel Dister based in Cromarty (Scotland). I now live and work in Inverness as a Second Line IT Support Analyst and I continue to  be an artist over my spare time.

Statement

Nature inspires me. I love all its beautiful colours which is why I take a lot of pictures and I enjoy looking at the work of landscape photographers. Everything I make tends to wear a fantasy-based look as I am fascinated by the surreal and the unexplained. My ceramic pieces are usually covered up with a blend of several glazes fired together and my computer-based images very often involve several layers to produce mysterious and abstract sceneries. I like silent places, old/abandoned places, they are filled with mystery. Scotland is a fascinating place; its beauty and its peace very much inspire me.
